Recipe for Qingtuan

Step 1
The grass leaves used by mom are traditional vegetable leaves (such as lettuce, spinach, mustard greens, mugwort, etc.) that have been boiled in lime water or soda water and then washed clean before use.
Step 2
Cleaned grass leaves are mixed with glutinous rice flour (a mixture of water-milled glutinous rice flour and regular rice flour, as too much glutinous rice flour is not easily digestible) and kneaded into a dough with some hot water.
Step 3
Knead the dough until smooth and form small dough balls.
Step 4
Shape the dough into the style shown in the picture.
Step 5
Fill with red bean filling.
Step 6
Shape into round balls.
Step 7
Place in a steamer with original vegetable leaves or palm leaves to prevent sticking.
Step 8
Steam in an electric rice cooker or steamer for 15 minutes.
Step 9
The vibrant color is very tempting and tastes better than those bought at the supermarket, with a more fragrant aroma.
Step 10
Filled with plenty of red bean paste, sweet to the core.
