Steps to Make Home-style Steamed Buns

Step 1
Steam two small purple sweet potatoes after peeling and slicing
Step 2
Knead the white dough with warm water, yeast, and sugar until smooth
Step 3
Mash the steamed purple sweet potatoes, add sugar, let it cool, then mix with the dough. Let both doughs ferment in a bowl before shaping
Step 4
Knead the fermented dough, shape the purple sweet potato dough first, then the white dough. The shaping of the rose can vary, with some using six layers of dough and others using seven. For detailed instructions, refer to my previous steamed bun recipe
Step 5
Cover and steam the dough for a second fermentation over medium heat
Step 6
The white dough in the second pot, my dough was a bit hard, so it was difficult to make it too smooth

The finished product from the first pot, ready to eat
