Ingredients for Braised Pig’s Feet
Pig’s Feet 1 | Light Soy Sauce 3 tablespoons |
Dark Soy Sauce 1/4 teaspoon | Rock Sugar 2 pieces |
Salt 1/2 teaspoon | Garlic 8 cloves |
Ginger, sliced 5 slices | Sichuan Peppercorns a small handful |
Cinnamon Stick 1 small piece | Star Anise 1 |
Bay Leaf 1 | Spring Onions 2 stalks |
Dried Chili Peppers 3 |
Recipe for Braised Pig’s Feet

Step 1
Clean the pig’s feet, put them in cold water with spring onions and ginger. Bring to a boil, skim off any foam, then drain the liquid. Rinse the pig’s feet in fresh water, return to the pot, and cook for half an hour.
Step 2
Fry 2 slices of ginger and 8 cloves of garlic until fragrant, then add to the pig’s feet.
Step 3
Sauté Sichuan peppercorns, cinnamon stick, bay leaf, and dried chili peppers in a pan.
Step 4
Transfer the spices to a seasoning bag, add 3 tablespoons of light soy sauce, 1/4 teaspoon of dark soy sauce, 2 pieces of rock sugar, 1/2 teaspoon of salt. Cook for half an hour, then let it simmer for another half an hour.
Step 5
Boil and peel eggs, add them to the braised pig’s feet and let simmer for over an hour. For best results, refrigerate overnight and enjoy the next morning for breakfast.
