Steps for Making Steamed Yam and Meat Patties

Step 1
When making this steamed meat patty soup, it is best to use lean meat stuffing, chopped by hand for a better texture than machine-ground.
Step 2
I always insist on wearing gloves to peel and cut yam, as we eat yam frequently at home. It is better to pat and then chop the yam before adding it to the meat mixture.
Step 3
For mixing the meat mixture, including starch, soy sauce, salt, and soaked green onion-ginger water, I recommend keeping all these ingredients. Do not overmix, but make sure all the ingredients are evenly combined for later use.
Step 4
For steaming, use small containers. Spread the meat stuffing evenly in the bowl, flatten it out. The amount of meat stuffing is enough to make two steamed bowls.
Step 5
Now, crack an egg into each bowl, and steam for 5 minutes after the water is boiling to set the shape.
Step 6
Once the egg is set, fill the pot with water up to 90% full, cover and steam for another 15 minutes.
Step 7
After steaming, sprinkle chopped green onions and goji berries on top of the steamed yam and meat patty, enhancing both color and flavor.
Step 8
Although this steamed bowl looks simple, it provides a solid warmth to the stomach. The combination of yam, lean meat, and eggs can be considered a nutritional golden trio.
Step 9
A dish low in fat, high in protein, perfect for growing children and those looking to manage their weight. Adding some stir-fried vegetables as a side dish can make a satisfying meal for both you and your child, keeping you comfortable and not overly full after dinner.
